Next Saturday and  Sunday, the 13th & 14th of November, the American Women’s Club of The Hague will host it’s annual AWC Holiday Bazaar from 11:00-5:00 at the Carlton Ambassador Hotel of The Hague. This festive, fun holiday (as in Christmas, not vacation!) shopping extravaganza has been held every year since 1932, when the Queen  herself opened the first AWC of The Hague Holiday Bazaar. It is open to the public, and offers fabulous gift giving ideas, as well as some fun activities for the children. You will not want to miss it!

As a newer resident of The Hague, and being American, I joined the AWC a few months ago, and I have been most impressed with the quality of women I have met in this organization. It is not just about friendship and fun however, the funds raised at this event offer the membership of the AWC opportunities to help others. The AWC of The Hague has actively participated in philanthropic activities throughout its history. Each year we receive requests for and donate monies to charitable community organizations. In addition, since 2002, The American Women’s Club of The Hague has raised over 500,000 Euros to benefit Breast Cancer research, education and advocacy in The Netherlands. The AWC of The Hague has successfully lived up to the definition of philanthropy on many different levels.
