Allergies to gluten can be some of the most challenging, since gluten can be found in some of the most innocent looking foods. According to Wikipedia:

One of my eldest son’s childhood friends had a severe gluten allergy, causing his family much grief, and consternation because in the 1990s food products did not include important ingredient information as they do today. Imagining some of my favorite foods growing up, and I cringe at the thought of  a child not being able to eat  pancakes, pastas, and my favorite….chocolate.|
